Fun in the Sun with REIFhaus + A Giveaway

July 7, 2017

This post is in partnership with REIFhaus, a line of elegant womenswear for the confident woman, designed and sewn in Portland, Oregon.

Playsuit.  Jumpsuit.  Romper.  Whatever you want to call it, in my opinion it’s a piece to have fun in. Mix in the color of the moment – bright red – and you have a recipe for a good time. At least that was my theory, when I took this puppy for a joy ride.

This Lou Romper is the short version of the beloved Lou Jumpsuit. (Seen here and here on S+S.) I was a little unsure of this cropped cousin of the jumpsuit but, when I saw it in red, the concept came alive for me. Bold, playful, and sassy, it’s the antidote to all of summer’s sometimes overly simple, single-layer dressing.

The romper embodies all of my favorite qualities from the jumpsuit: it fits loose and away from the body, and it’s made from a breezy, linen-blend fabric.

I’ll let you make the decision, do girls in rompers really have more fun? Perhaps. Or maybe fun is just easier to come by because you don’t have to spend a nanosecond worrying about what you’re going to wear.

I think the Lou Romper would look gorgeous with a sand or rose colored bandana, or dressed up with a pair of nude clogs. But wearing it with my tan Pons is about the easiest and light-hearted outfit possible. I love making a statement without having to try very hard.

I’d love to hear your thoughts – I know many of you love jumpsuits, but would you do a romper? If so, how would you style it?

A Giveaway and a Treat!

This looks amazing on you! I just purchased my first jumpsuit, but haven’t made my way into romper-territory yet. My legs aren’t my favorite body part, and I rarely wear shorts, so it will likely never happen. Thanks for the link to REIFhaus though – they have some beautiful pieces!

You are welcome! I’m glad you like their stuff! I hear you on the legs, not my favorite either! But sometimes I’m just so darn tired of pants and freed legs feels so good! ;)

I usually feel really self conscious of myself in rompers – because of my body type, but I really like the look of this loose fitting one. It looks super cozy…And the red looks great!

I agree, I think the loose fit is what makes this such a great piece. To riding up the booty here!

have you seen the Netflix show Crashing? Episode 4 is the reason I have yet to to consider a one piece. So funny and yet my worst nightmare.

You have inspired many of the best things in my closet. Seriously — Jamie & the Jones tops, Everlane square shirt, Reifhaus jumpsuit, saving for a pair of Clydes, and now will be daydreaming about this. (Among others!) Thank you for making me a better, cooler dresser! You’re so dang good at this!

Wow, Beth, what a tremendous compliment. I am so honored! Thank you for the kind words. :)

Thank you so much! It’s a bold choice, but kind of nice to mix it up a bit. :)

    Hi Andrea,
Can you tell me what size you ordered and if you don’t mind my asking, what your height and body measurements (bust, waist, hips) are?

    • Reply Andrea July 9, 2017 at 12:46 am

Hi Rica! I am wearing the Lou Romper in a size Medium. I am 5’7″ and my measurements are about 34-29-40. I hope that helps!

My biggest issue with rompers is usually the length of the shorts (or lack thereof) but this is perfect. And you look great in it!

    • Reply Andrea July 9, 2017 at 12:46 am

I agree Dara, I love the length on this thing! Thank you for the kind words! ;)

What size do you wear in the full jumpsuit, if I might ask?

    • Reply Andrea July 15, 2017 at 12:20 am

Hi Zelda! I wear a Medium in the full jumpsuit! 😊

I’m pregnant (20 weeks), your size or a little smaller, and considering a L…
