the Weekly Rundown: A $1000 Garage Reno, Digital Simplicity + A Style Muse

My husband and I have an oversized garage that connects the two parts of our split level house, so we end up passing through there several times per day. And we are constantly talking about how we might improve the aesthetics. THIS mini garage makeover is giving me some serious inspiration!

Any camera gear-heads out there? We keep hearing that mirrorless is the way of the future, but Canon just made it official for their lineup.

Madewell kicked off their ‘secret’ sale this weekend. This sweater that I love so much is marked down to $42! (I sized down for a more fitted look.) A few other noteworthy items (make sure you use the CLASSIFIED discount code to get the extra 40%): this hoodie sweater would look super cute under a blazer or with leggings and I keep eyeing these hiker boots. This cropped sweater is a closet staple for me and I wear this chunkie beanie at least once per week.

A style muse I can’t get enough of.

If you’re into capsule wardrobes, you might love Sara’s edgy winter one, she expertly mixes in some bold color.

I’m taking notes from Michelle’s plaid blazer styling session.

Zeba Blay’s beauty uniform is most inspiring, from the shower spray, to reading Harry Potter outloud, to her newfound liberation from one”small” aesthetic shift.

I’m taking some time off Instagram and I’ve noticed a fringe benefit: I’m suddenly reading more blogs again! I forgot how much I love long-format content. And I see I’m not the only one noticing benefits from spending time away from the platform.

I signed up for Courtney Carver’s Digital Simplicity Challenge, and I am looking forward to continuing to reduce my screen time!

Resolutions aren’t my thing. But sometimes reading about others’ sparks inspiration for making life-long changes. Sophie has an excellent roundup of Sustainable Resolutions, and the resources on how to learn more.
