Spring Breaking

It’s spring break around these parts, and I am busting out my favorite jumpsuit for a little party action. No, I’m not actually going to a spring break party – har har, but wearing this jumpsuit kind of feels like a party because it’s probably the ‘funnest’ piece I own. I put it on hiatus for winter (too chilly!) but, now that temps are climbing up a little bit, I am ready to wear it again.

As always, I love connecting with local makers – including the lovely folks behind these pretty little studs. betsy + iya is a super hip, Portland-based brand that makes and sells modern jewelry (among other things!) in their NW Portland studio. These Rutsu earrings are a dangle/stud mashup, kind of the best of both worlds. I don’t vary my earring game a whole lot, but these are fun to throw on when I want a little extra pop. I’m not sure if you can tell here, but they have a matte finish, which makes them nice and understated – just how I like it.

STYLE NOTES:
This jumpsuit was a big player last spring and summer, even a bit into the fall. It’s been very influential on my style, giving me the courage to wear what I love even if something doesn’t fall into traditional silhouettes or shapes. Lindsey Reif is the kickass designer behind it, and for this year’s line she has designed the Lou Jumpsuit in natural denim, and light indigo denim. Both are gorgeous!

I layered a pima turtleneck underneath for warmth, and added the jean jacket for going outside. I scored my 1970’s tooled leather bag at a local vintage shop, but a quick search on Etsy returned lots of options (see here and here).

Are you layering up any of your spring favorites right now to wear in early spring? Give us your insights and tips!

  1. Hey Andrea! I love every single thing about this look! If I may ask (and pardon me if you’ve already mentioned it), what size are you in the jumpsuit?
I ordered the same Nisolo shoes after seeing you style them on instagram, I love them – so soft and just the right shade of tan! My family and I are making a short trip to Portland in April, I’ve been making notes on what places I could visit from your posts :)

    1. Hi Pav!! My jumpsuit is a size Medium. 😊 That’s fabulous that you guys are coming here! I’m going to share some more places to shop this weekend on my Weekly Rundown, make sure to take notes then too. 😉
